Thursday, March 19, Dakota turned 15 years old. We had a party at the house Friday night and in true Dakota fashion celebrated with an OU Sooners cake! The picture includes his best friend, Jonah, and good friend, Ali.
It is hard to believe that 15 years ago Dakota made me a momma. I am so proud of the man he is becoming. Dakota's smile is contagious and his laugh is infectious. He has a tender spot to defend those who can't defend themselves. I have watched him become a loving big brother 3 times and can't explain what it is like to see the love he shows when something is wrong with Colby, Chandler or Buckley. I am so honored to be the one God chose to be Dakota's mother. As I watch Dakota grow & mature I think of Mary and echo the verse in Luke 2:19, "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." I don't know what the future holds for Dakota, but I know who holds his future, and I pray God's blessings on him every day for the years to come.
