Happy Easter

Our Easter weekend was fun and sugar-filled. Dakota left Friday to spend the weekend with Noni, my mom, turkey hunting. (more posts on that later!) So, with Richard scouting, I took Colby, Chandler & Buckley to the egg-hunt at the park. Then we went to the FFA Farm Day at the high school where Colby got a kick out of petting the turkey. All was going well until I hear Colby explaining why the turkey was strutting & gobbling to some high school students, who had tried to answer a child's question easily, when Colby felt the need to correct them. He was trying to explain it wasn't just a sound they made, and I quote, "..it's a mating thing, but that is a talk you need to have with your parents, because I don't really want to go into details. It is not something you talk about in a barn!" I didn't know what to say except that we moved on to the next animals quickly!
We went to our friends, Heather & Keala Hoe's house for sweets Sunday evening. I am so thankful for their friendship, they have been an answer to prayers for us. Their son, Jonah, is Dakota's best friend. They also have Sam, 10 and twin girls, Faith & Lauren, 8. It's great to have a family that loves God and our kids can grow close with also.
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday and a great day to refocus on how much Christ's resurrection means to us. Hunting eggs, spending time with friends and family, and Easter candy are just icing on the cake!

Spring Break 2009

Well, it's been a fun & busy couple of weeks. We started our spring break with spending the weekend with my sister & nephew, Kelly & Wilson. They were in Pasco, WA for a Team Roping Championship. And honestly, there is just not a lot of things to say about sitting and watching cowboys for two days except--YEE-HAW! Wilson did great and won a saddle! It was exciting to watch and wait to the very end to see if his teams time would win, and they did. HE is a very talented roper, and will only improve as time goes on. Dakota loves being with Wilson and has the best time around him. They are quite the pair together, although not as funny as they always think they are, but they both probably get that trait honestly. Wilson was my "first" baby and has had a special place in my heart for 16 years. I love being able to be with Kelly and get some sister bonding in, although her diet and work out regimen have me convinced she really is adopted! We also met her boyfriend, Tim, who I really like.
We hung around here for the rest of the week, enduring weather from snow to finally 75 degrees in the end. Kids played and Dakota hung out with friends from church. I included pictures of Colby, Chandler and Buckley playing Spies. Buckley and Chandler felt the need to be fashionable as possible when undercover and armed. It was a fun week and just made us itch more for warmer weather and SUMMER!
