Our Easter weekend was fun and sugar-filled. Dakota left Friday to spend the weekend with Noni, my mom, turkey hunting. (more posts on that later!) So, with Richard scouting, I took Colby, Chandler & Buckley to the egg-hunt at the park. Then we went to the FFA Farm Day at the high school where Colby got a kick out of petting the turkey. All was going well until I hear Colby explaining why the turkey was strutting & gobbling to some high school students, who had tried to answer a child's question easily, when Colby felt the need to correct them. He was trying to explain it wasn't just a sound they made, and I quote, "..it's a mating thing, but that is a talk you need to have with your parents, because I don't really want to go into details. It is not something you talk about in a barn!" I didn't know what to say except that we moved on to the next animals quickly!
We went to our friends, Heather & Keala Hoe's house for sweets Sunday evening. I am so thankful for their friendship, they have been an answer to prayers for us. Their son, Jonah, is Dakota's best friend. They also have Sam, 10 and twin girls, Faith & Lauren, 8. It's great to have a family that loves God and our kids can grow close with also.
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday and a great day to refocus on how much Christ's resurrection means to us. Hunting eggs, spending time with friends and family, and Easter candy are just icing on the cake!
